Welp. So far this year has been trash.

Sike, I wouldn’t say it’s been straight garbage, but it has already been difficult, let me tell you. I had thought to share a post about New Year’s and Walgreens and glamour, and somewhere in there mention the ways I’ve already had to mantra myself to let go. But I just wasn’t feeling it. I guess maybe it felt a bit too cliche, with a bow tied too tightly and suffocating me. So instead, I’m sharing this beautifully brooding picture of garbage and chaos that I took on my long, rainy walk to work from the train. Because maybe I’m not the only one having a sucky year so far and still feeling spent and reeling from The Holidays.

Sometimes my response to other people’s encouragement is, psh! Don’t tell me how to live my life! Especially when there’s some exotic looking background and a font that was designed to mimic handwriting. (I’m one to talk… lolz). But guess what guys, if you’re in a first of the year funk, I’m finna tell you how to live your lives:

Count it all joy, my bretheren. Count it all joy.

For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing. James 1

And anyways, God has given us a whole extra day this year!! Hollapraize.

So yah. Tomorrow is a Thursday and Amazon is scheduled to deliver The Privilege of Being a Woman by Alice Von Hildebrand to my work desk. Also, I signed myself up for Surfer Magazine. Just a little life update on my impending reading materials. I am liable to post about the aforementioned in the future.

Happy New Year, you guys!!

be fruitful. live free.
