“My grandmother used to say, ‘If you want to make God laugh, tell Him your plans.’”
Just kidding, neither of my grandmothers ever said that to me. Ha. But the aforementioned italicized is the opening line of my favorite movie ~ Bella ~ and also the story of my life.
I have been restlessly wrestling with God regarding where on earth I belong; and I keep making declarations, becoming convinced that I have finally and definitely stumbled upon the entirety of God’s plan. Usually it’s got two first names and the promise of some sort of heaven. Very different places that have arrested my ecclectic heart; like Walnut Creek, Santa Cruz, Los Angeles.
We make our plans, but the Lord determines our steps. Proverbs 16:9
God knows exactly what I long for. He hears my every sigh. Psalm 38:9
He will lead me along the most perfectly suited path for my life. Psalm 32:8
The best is yet to come.
Wait patiently for the Lord. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the Lord. Psalm 27:14
