As of late, I find myself becoming more fully persuaded of the Gospel. Through Jesus, I am redeemed from the curse of the law and always caused to triumph (Galatians 3:13, 2 Corinthians 2:14, Psalm 34:19). God has been showing me through scripture and bible-study that He fully intends for me to overcome the trials that I have learned to count as joy (James 1) … to make progress and increase and be fruitful and live free … to prosper and be in good health, even as my soul prospers. So yesterday morning when my Subaru started smoking from the front right corner as I cruised down New Bern Avenue, my genuine initial reaction was amusement.

Well, my initial reaction was Nahthis is not about to be a thing. #NotTodaySatan. Ha. Then I was amused because he really tried it. And God rescued me and gave me the best. My uncle happens to take the same commute to drop my cousin off at school, and he and some EMTs that seemed to have appeared out of nowhere collaborated in pushing me out of the middle of traffic. I had the best Elite tow-driver and the best AAA shuttle-drivers, and the woman who worked out the logistics was nice to me and called me sweetie all day and gave me a complimentary tire rotation.

And the Lord will provide an upgrade for me … with tinted windows and/or a true trunk and accessible cupholders!! The best is yet to come.

So this Thursday I am thankful for God’s protection and provision and promises.

I’m thankful for Isaiah 12:2 fortifying the walls of my heart so that in moments like Wednesday morning I have a firm foundation to stand on and peace in place of anxiousness.

behold, God is my salvation

i will trust, and will not be afraid

for the Lord God is my strength and my song

and He has become my salvation.

In other news, I successfully re-soiled the welcome plant gifted to me by my supervisor and named it Benvenue. I took him home with me on Monday and drove him back to work on Tuesday morning.

I am grateful that Benvenue brings life to my workspace and is thriving in his dirty new digs. Ha.
