In 2017, I tumbled for a whole entire year.
As I was evaluating my online presences (again), I kept wanting to be beyond tumblr, but I’m not.
Some days it’s just comforting to scroll through my accumulated photographs of black girl magic and black boy joy and palm trees and barrels and surf boards.
There are some days when Tumblr is the last thing I need . . . like the whole entire month of June, or when net neutrality ends. But sometimes, my own G-rated collection of beautiful things (set to songs my heart quietly asks me to listen to) helps escort me through the uncomfortable intensity of a God is shifting some things in me // I can’t believe I drove to work in the snow this week // what is my life ISTJ introspection session . . .
Tonight, as I get ready to church plant and lead worship tomorrow, my encouragement to myself and the tumblrverse comes from Proverbs 11:25:
Whoever brings blessing will be enriched, and one who waters will himself be watered.
So strengthen the weak hands, and make firm the feeble knees. Say to those who have an anxious heart, Be strong; fear not! Behold, your God will come with vengeance, with the recompense of God. He will come and save you.
Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight – and sin which clings so closely – and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith . . .
The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth . . . He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might He increases strength.
Let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.
