Today’s scrounge is a simple substitution for the well known “rice & beans” meal. As much as I enjoy rice, and beans, I’ve not quite managed to scrounge them together in a way that hits. So if you’re able to plan, I suggest opting for beans and tortillas which is potentially no more expensive.

I really like the $.59 can of chili beans from my (unsponsored) neighborhood Target, and tend to opt for corn tortillas. If you’re in between grocery trips, I’m sure whatever beans and spices you have on hand can be combined into something satisfying.

I typically just heat the beans up in a pot on medium-high heat and toss the tortillas in the oven briefly until they start to curl up a bit.
