My older sister gave me a weapon for Christmas . . . beautifully carved sapele wood with shiny, silver tuning pegs; a four-stringed instrument with potential for great power and wonderful results. I was as surprised by this gift as I was by the way the year ended.

The past few weeks have reminded me that I am in a war. And one of my most effective weapons is song . . . faith-filled declarations that God and His Word are good.

Let the godly sing for joy to the Lord, for it is fitting to praise Him.

Psalm 33:1, NLT
‘fitting to praise Him’ | rebekkah the band

SING A NEW SONG SKILLFULLY – REJOICE
FOR IT IS FITTING TO PRAISE HIM, BECOMING TO ADORE

PRAISE THE ONE WHOSE EVERY WORD
HOLDS POWER TO PIERCE US WITH SANCTIFYING LOVE

EVERYTHING HE DOES IS WORTHY OF OUR TRUST
AND IT IS FITTING TO PRAISE THE ONE WHO BEARS US UP
OH IT IS FITTING TO GIVE TO HIM THE JOY HE’S WORTHY OF

LET THE GODLY SING WITH JOY TO THE LORD
FOR IT IS FITTING TO PRAISE HIM – BECOMING TO REJOICE
SING NEW SONGS OF PRAISE – RAISE YOUR VOICE
OH IT IS FITTING TO GIVE TO HIM THE JOY HE’S WORTHY OF
OH IT IS FITTING TO PRAISE HIM – FITTING TO REJOICE
