This past week, I applied for a position with significant responsibility and a starting salary 61% more than I’ve ever made. The idea of overseeing the production of a niche, well-crafted material good inspired me, and I genuinely believed that I could execute it well. I was not offered the job, but I am pleased with myself for not being too intimidated to submit an application.

Yesterday I walked boldly towards threatening clouds for the same reason . . . a leading and to acquire something for the blessing and benefit of my soul. Despite the way the weather seemed, my umbrella never had need to come out of its sleeve.

Farmers who wait for perfect weather never plant. If they watch every cloud, they never harvest.

Ecclesiastes 11:4, new living translation
